Passé composé is a very useful tense in any language. It describes what has happened in the past.
To form these sentences you either use the verb 'avoir' or the verb 'être'
'Avoir' means 'to have' and 'être' means 'to be'
Once you have put the verb, you add in something to the ending, also known as the 'past participle'
In most cases, the 'past particple' for -er verbs is an 'é'
So, you replace the 'er' at the end of the verb, and then to replace it you add an 'é'
For example:
I bought.
the verb 'to buy' is 'acheter'
In present tense : I buy = J'achète
So in order to make it passé composé, you replace the -er and add an é. And remember to either have an 'avoir' or 'être' verb.
In passé composé : I bought = J'ai acheté
There are also irregular verbs. There is not particular pattern with these verbs, you just have to memorize them.
An example is:
I drank.
Present tense: Je bois
Passé composé: j'ai bu

Ordering Food & Drink
Nous avons fait un projet sur le theme, comment commander des boissons et de la nourriture au café. J’ai travaillé avec trois autres élèves. Nous avons écrit le dialogue nous-même et Nous avons pratiqué la prononciation et essayé de parler couramment et à l'aise.. Cette tâche était difficile, mais, Je pense que j'ai bien fait.
In the assignment, I worked with 3 other people to write a skit about ordering food and drink in French. We learnt how the french order, and what food they like, and then we put that into a script. Once we had practiced the script until we had an idea of the correct pronunciation, we filmed it. In order to be successful in this project, we had to learn different vocabulary words and expressions that would help us in a real life situation. One of the goals of this project was to be able to speak and order food with a fluent french accent, with the right pronunciation and to be able to understand others as they order food and drinks. One aspect that was fairly difficult for me to grasp, was the pronunciation. During the movie, I made a few mistakes while saying several words. If I had more time to practice I think I would have improved even more. However, overall it was a fairly successful project, and I learnt quite a lot in terms of food and drink.
